Pay equity delivers up to 40% pay increases for school librarians and science technicians

School librarians, assistants and science technicians are set to vote on an up to 40% increase of pay- covering over 1600 individuals.

Uber drivers to ask for better pay, work conditions in first-ever collective agreement

Uber drivers are initiating their first ever collective bargaining agreement, wanting an increase in pay as uber drivers have made the comment that on average they are paid less than minimum wage.. This comes after the landmark ruling that declared uber drivers are employees, and are entitled to minimum wage, holiday pay, sick leave and kiwisaver contributions.

University of Auckland strikes re-start

For 23 hours this week the University of Auckland will be on strike causing discuprtions to the first week of classes. In addiction non- academic staff will be taking a further strike – a ban on working more than the ordinary hours of work.
