18,000 Allied Health Workers Receive Significant Pay Equity Offer
Around 18,000 Allied Health workers, which includes physiotherapists, social workers, and lab scientists, Should the offer be accepted the pay increase will be around 20%.

Costco Living Wage Settlement Sets New Standard For Grocery Pay
200 Costco Workers in Auckland have ratified the store’s first collective agreement. The new agreement includes a starting rate of $26.50 per hour – which is above the new living wage of $26 – it also offers a progressive pathway to earning $30 per hour after four years’ service with the company, along with overtime and penal rates.

Telehealth workers strike for second time
For the second time this month, telehealth workers are on strike. The New Zealand Telehealth Services/ Whakarongorau Aotearoa has said that they wanted to pay the workers more but needed more government funding.

Staff at Otago Daily Times publisher Allied Press strike over pay
Allied Press journalists – which publishes the Otago Daily Times and more than a dozen community papers from Timaru to Invercargill – have walked off the job in demand of increased pay. Allied Press Journalists received a 2% increase in the last negotiations, whilst others in the industry are receiving 5 to 6% increases. Staff were offered a 9% pay increase in the last offer.

Health workers accept pay equity settlement achieving average pay increase of 20%
Around 16,000 Allied, Public Health, Scientific, and Technical health workers have settled a pay equity increase of 20%. The settlement includes an interim pay adjustment backdated to 30 November 2022 and lump sum payment of up to $10,000.
