Specialist learning support staff have voted to accept their latest offer
Specialist learning support staff started their work ban on 24 July due to being unable to resolve their collective agreement negotiations. Now staff have voted to accept the latest offer form the ministry of Education and have withdrawn their strike action.

Westpac workers to go on nationwide strike
Bargaining for Westpac workers have been ongoing for five months, now around 800 Westpac workers have voted to take strike action next week after receiving an offer they will not accept. The latest offer was 7% pay increase over 18 months and a one-off cash payment.

Nurses accept pay offer from Te Whatu Ora, strike won’t go ahead
Today Te Whatu Ora nurses have voted to accept the latest collective agreement.
The offer is
- A salary increase for all riles covered by the collective of $4000, effective April 2023
- A flat rate salary increase of $1000 to senior nurses, practitioners and senior midwives
- a further salary increase to all steps of all scales of $2000 or 3 percent whichever is the higher, effective from 1 April 2024
- a lump sum payment of $750 made to all NZNO members bound by the settlement at the date of ratification
- a further lump sum payment of $500 to all employees.
- The collective agreement increases would be backpaid from April 2023
Senior nurses will now be paid between $114,025 and $162,802 a year, and registered nurses between $75,773 and $106,739.

Senior doctors, dentists who work in hospitals vote to strike
Senior Doctors and dentists have voted to strike next month due to deadlocked pay negotiations. Three strikes have been organized over the month of September. Unions are askinf for 7-8% increases across 12 months. The current offer would see that all senior doctors received a pay increase of between $15000 and $26000 in addition to a lumpsum payment of $4000.
