Evolve Education Group / Historic move by teachers in private early childhood centres
Early Childhood teachers working for a privately owned centre are for the first time initiating bargaining for a collective agreement.  NZEI union members employed by Evolve Education Group will be seeking full pay parity for their qualified leaders, living wages vor support staff and better work conditions for the teachers.
This is part of the NZEI mission to unionise and transform the early childhood sector.

Anaesthetic Technicians to Strike Across the Country
Aneasthetic Technicians go on strike on Thursday – using a mix of partial strike action and full withdrawal of labour.

 

26 July

South Pine / South Island timber workers strike for decent living wages
Union members at South Pine in Nelson have made the snap decision to go on strike for a decent pay rise for the next 12 months.

FredA – ETU and First Union members want the CPI (7.3%) as an increase as well as the Living Wage to be the starting wage.

 

28 July

Radiation Therapy National Strike on Monday 8 August
Radiation therapists who are trained to deliver radiation treatment to cancer patients will be on strike on the 8th of August.  This strike will stop all delivery of the treatment (excluding the most urgent patients) at Auckland City Hospital, Waikato Hospital, Palmerston North Hospital, Christchurch Hospital and Dunedin Hospital.
Bargaining has been ongoing since february.
