10,000 Health Workers To Vote On Strike Action

Negotiations between PSA health workers and DHB began in 2020 and now the 10,000 PSA health workers workers will vote on strike action after a small increase over a longer term fell short of the workers expectations.

Fred A – growing discontent continues. This matter has not been resolved and Omicron has simply delayed the big bang.

Waitangi Day Worker Walk out

Sky City Hamilton workers walked off the job as they strike for the higher wages. Members have also voted to escalate the strike action in following weeks.

CHEP Pallet Suppliers To Strike After Months Negotiating Fair Wage Increases

Chep employees are set to strike after 7 months of bargaining and no agreement on the living wage.

Minimum wage to increase to $21.20 from April

Minimum wages are increase to $21.20 from 1 April 2022

Fred A – the real minimum wage seems higher as the labour shortage has pushed starting wages up.

Rail And Maritime Transport Union Media Release: KiwiRail Workers Ratify New Pay Deal

Kiwirail workers have ratified with a strong majority , an increase of $2.48 in hourly pay rates along with 8% increase in allowances.

 

15 February

Auckland Metro Rail Workers To Vote On Industrial Action

The Rail and Maritime Transport Union (RMTU) are balloting their members at Auckland One rail for industrial action after the company have tabled a final wage offer for a 16-month period that amounts to a pay cut for the RMTU members.

Thousands of health staff set to strike

PSA Health workers (lab workers, contact tracers and critical health staff) have voted to walk off the job for two 24 hour strikes next month.

 

Secondary teachers meet to decide collective agreement claims

Secondary teacher in NZ are holding paid union meetings to discuss claims for their new collective agreement which expires in June.
