29 November – NZNO nurses to march in protest
NZNO health workers and nurses are protesting the failure to meet back pay and lumpsum payment deadlines that were agreed under the recently ratified NZNO/DHB MECA.
29 November – KiwiRail worker strikes still on as mediation stalls: union boss ‘optimistic’ of resolution
The Kiwi rail strike scheduled for the 16th and 17th of December is still going ahead, after mediation causing freight delays to an already overburdened supply chain system.
The union is pursuing an 8% pay increase for the employees.
27 November – Countdown DC Workers Win Settlement After 3-day Strike Action
After a 3 day strike, Countdown distribution centre workers have signed a 5% wage increase for the first year and a 3.9% increase for a reduced 9-month term the following year, which also includes extra sickleave and redundancy provisions.
23 November – Countdown DC Workers Take Action As Rising Cost Of Living In Auckland Goes Unmet
Around 700 Countdown distribution centre workers are on strike today, employees and FIRST union are in negotiations to increase pay in line with CPI increases.
19 November – Port of Timaru workers vote in favour of strike
During negotiations with the RMTU around the Multi-Employment Collective Agreement (MECA), Port of Timaru workers have voted to strike for an eight percent wage increase.
16 November – Call for $22.75 minimum wage to reward essential workers
The council of Trade Unions (CTU) have called for the minimum wage to increase from $20 to $22.75 per hour, to match the living wage.

16 November – The Warehouse Distribution Centre Workers Strike During Bargaining
Over 280 workers at The Warehouse Distribution centre are going on strike, this comes as they have been unable to agree regarding wage issues. The last agreement (which covers around 300 people in the distribution centre expired in June 2021) saw employees being paid 19% above minimum wage – well above retail average market salary.
15 November – Rail Workers Vote For Nationwide Strike And Stoppage
KiwiRail workers have voted to strike in pursuit of 8% wage increases after a 0% increase in 2020. The strike action will affect all rail operations throughout NZ and includes rail ferries, and Auckland & Wellington metro systems.
