Fred is an internationally recognised expert in Industrial Relations negotiations, based in Auckland, New Zeeland. As director and principal consultant, he leads the NZ team in designing and delivering fit for purpose negotiating strategies. When not negotiating, he advises and coaches managers throughout Australasia, Europe, North America, Asia & Africa in the science and art, of how to achieve balanced and business efficient collective agreements.
His global clients include BP, Rio Tinto, Transdev, Exxon Mobile, Unilever, Mercedes Benz and Levi Strauss. Locally, he can add, Air New Zealand, McDonalds, James Hardie, Sealord, Sky City, Mitre10 and Fletcher Building amongst others.
His experience covers retail, manufacturing, aviation, engineering, construction, logistics, transport, agriculture, fishing, shipbuilding, mining, warehousing, health and ambulance services, forestry, ports, hospitality and government agencies.
With a Psychology degree, post-graduate employment law and dispute resolution qualifications and 30 years practical experience, he can quickly assess risks, competing negotiating interests and formulate practical solutions.
As a negotiation thought leader, he constantly analysis the ever-changing interaction between economics, politics, social trends and legislation, to ensure clients get the most current strategic and practical advice, prior to finalising how and when to engage with unions and their members.

When Fred is not leading or teaching negotiations, he may be spotted surfing or ocean paddling. To relax he runs marathons and ultra-marathons.
