After the government’s revelation of its plans to repeal Fair Pay Agreements, over 10,000 Workers have signed the petition to keep FPA’s. Workers believe that Fair Pay Agreements are a means to protect themselves from the increasing cost of living, and to protect the marginalised worker.

RNZ workers are calling for a strike after being offered 5.5% at their last negotiations. RNZ employees are looking for a 7% increase, and feel that the recent funding boost should be spent on wages rather than on new projects and technology. An RNZ spokesperson has said that over the years

RNZ employees have been offered a pay increase of 5.5%, however they have been pushing for a 7% increase.
The difference between the offer and the requested increase has motivated the union members to initiate industrial action.
